So I actually haven't been to their location in Mississippi, but I had the chance to try their cake at the 13th Annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party in NYC last weekend. Strawberry Cake is my favorite cake, and all but impossible to find in most places in the country, except for a few spots in the South and Texas. So when I came across their booth serving strawberry cake, I had to have it, and it was ridiculously good. Fresh strawberries in the cake batter and frosting and wasn't dry at all, nor was it too sweet - was basically perfect. I'm considering ordering a cake online for delivery, even at a hefty price of $55 + overnight shipping in dry ice, it's that good. Who knows, maybe I'll just wait for a special occasion, but I'm definitely doing it one day. If you ever have the chance to try it, please do so, it'll make you very happy!

Caramel cake was the favorite cake of my significant other's father, who passed away a few years ago. I wanted to find a way to honor his father's memory and learned about Sugaree's caramel cake after some research. The reviews of this bakery, and their caramel cake, in particular, were amazing. So, I ordered one to be delivered for the family's first celebration of his birthday, since his passing. I heard nothing but praise from the family about this cake!!! My significant other said this caramel cake would have been his father's favorite, hands down! So...this has become the family tradition to enjoy a Sugaree's caramel cake for his birthday ever since. I must add that all of their cakes receive fantastic reviews and I am planning to order each and every flavor at some point! For Mother's Day this year, I have ordered the Strawberry Cake....I keep checking the shipment tracking because I CANNOT WAIT for it to arrive!!!! Be aware that someone needs to accept the shipment (if you order their cakes online). And you must allow about an hour or two for your cake to thaw before you can enjoy it!!!They are baked fresh, then frozen, and packed with dry ice for shipment. There has never been a problem with the look, taste, or quality of the cakes that I have ordered. And I have ordered quite a few now. And yes, the cakes remain moist and wonderful for as long as it lasts (however, I know that most of the cakes I have ordered were consumed within 24 hours). I would recommend trying Sugaree's...you'll see why their ratings are so awesome! I hope to one day visit their bakery (I am certain I will never want to leave). Until then, I will continue to have their cakes delivered and enjoy their deliciousness in Texas, and ship their treats to friends and family around the country to SHARE THE JOY!!!

I have pondered several months over how to write a review on such a fantastic little hot spot in New ALbany, MS, where life is much slower than in the city where I'm from, but here goes: Pound Cake: Delicious, buttery, moist-never dry, and just AH-mazing! Coconut, Caramel, Red Velvet, Chocolate, Rainbow Cake: Simply put--the BEST cake you have ever placed on your palette! The frosting is homemade and perfect. The cake--even though you buy it frozen, once thawed--it is the moistest cake you have ever eaten! Tarts: Melt in your mouth-Strawberry or Blackberry--I'll take 2 of each! Pecan Tassies: My 3rd favorite item in the shop. These are like little pecan pie bites, but the crust is what makes these little guys my #3 thing to buy when I am in town. It's like a shortbread cookie--buttery, and sooooo divine. Cheesecakes: Different flavors. Creamy, Creamy, Creamy! They sell these individual or in an 8x8 pan for you to take home. These are great for a small social gathering. Chess Pie: This is my FAVORITE item sold in the shop. It's not always available in the single slice, but when I am there and they have it, I buy it. I love chess pie and this recipe is spot on! Buttery, creamy, sugary, and delicious. I don't care for the crust, but it's homemade and many people LOVE it. I just eat all the filling! Wedding cookies: By far-hands down the BEST cookie I've ever eaten. If you can manage to get these little guys home and place them in the freezer overnight and then eat them, you will experience MOUTHGASM like you've never experienced it before! This is the #2 item to buy for me & #1 of there is no individual chess pie to buy. Sugarees has many more items within their small shop, located right in the heart of the square. Everything I have sampled, either purchased or the free samples they offered throughout the day, have all been homemade, using the finest ingredients and simply delicious. The service in-shop is Southern Charm and the ladies do a great job at suggesting something for you if you don't know what to buy if you are planning a social. They also have a discounted freezer with items that didn't make the cut to get out to sell at full price, but don't let the word "discount" fool you! Inside that freezer lies discounted items that taste almost exactly the same as the originals! If you are ever in the area, I would encourage you to stop in this little bakery. Meet their lovely staff, make a new friend, and carry home some of the best sweets your money can buy!

BABBQBP 2015: $6 caramel cake was not only bland but ineptly iced..had to ask for 3 slices before getting an acceptable but still poorly frosted one.

I'm a New Albany native, but now I call Memphis home. It cracks me up that no matter what eatery I go to here in the 901, a server always offers Suaree's cake to me as a delicacy shipped in from a small town in Mississippi. I grew up on Suaree's red velvet and honestly, I didn't know cake tasted like anything other than the quality you get in their items. Around Memphis, everyone gushes about the strawberry and caramel cakes. If you get a chance, stop in. They usually have free samples on the table in front. You can't miss the giant rainbow cake displayed in the window.

The food is wonderful. I'm disappointed in the service. I shipped a birthday cake to my grandson and was not informed until I called that due to weather it did not go out. Had I not called I would have thought my grandson would have received his cake. Disappointed!!!

OMG I love this place!! They have the absolute best cakes in the world!! I no longer live in the south but they ship all over the USA!! The caramel cake is amazing!! They make it from scratch in cast iron pans!! You can't go wrong with anything from sugaree's!!

Made a stop on way to Tennessee and it's worth it! We had Carmel cake, coconut cake, pecan tassies, chocolate meringue pie. They were all delicious!

Holy crap!!! So good! Peach cobbler and turtle cheese cake are amazing! I though it was going to be overly sweet but it was perfect.

Sugaree's Bakery is special for many reasons! First of all, the layer cakes and sheet cakes are delicious!! The chocolate, caramel, and strawberry cakes are my personal faves! Second, they have a great variety of other goodies too--cookies, tarts, pies, etc. Definitely give Sugarees a try! You won't regret it!

We never miss visiting Sugaree's Bakery when we visit New Albany. Their pound cake is to die for! We've also had Sugaree's do the desserts for several occasions and are always a hit with our guests. If you have a sweet tooth, check them out!!!
